I was waiting to officially debut my tattoo on here and I thought Star Wars Day would he perfect! I got this tattoo on December 27th, the fourth aniversary of Carrie Fisher’s death and there is a special meaning behind it.

as someone who dealt with mental health issues including bad anxiety and adhd star wars has been a great comfort for me and carrie fisher in particular who struggled with her own mental health issues was huge source of coming to terms with how i can still be awesome with these issues.

i got this tattoo for bad days and i can have a reminder that i am going to be okay, and since i dealt with a horrible bout of high functioning depression i couldnt have gotten it at a better time. cause sometimes seeing the word “Hope” is all you need to keep going.

i was 26 years old when carrie fisher saved my life. she saved my life when she told me she admired me for my anxiety. I wanted to tell her someday but i never had the chance. i believe in spirits. so i hope she knows im alive because of her. thank you for everythibg carrie now and always.

There will not be a single day in my life where I am entirely grateful for meeting her. I was a woman with adhd and generalized anxiety disorder and I was made to feel ashamed of it. Having a small conversation about having it with her made me feel comfortable.

I have become a much stronger and tougher person thanks to her. I take no more shit, i let myself fuck up and let myself have poor mental health days instead of punishing myself. Bottom line, she saved my life.

Thank You Carrie. I hope you have an awesome celebration amongst the stars.
