NOTES: I know its been a good hot minute since I updated this fic but a bunch of things got in the way including my mental health taking a giant swan dive but I was determined to update this fic because this is my brain baby and I have so many plans for this especially since reading the EU. So once again thank you so much for your patience

EXCERPT: “You alright back there,” Han called from ahead of her as he turned to face her. “Everyone still together?”
He and Luke had been leading the group. Leia watched from behind as the two men were engaged in a long conversation, something she found them often doing. Usually, she would watch them talk with joy. But with the new information she had discovered, Leia nowhad looked onto the scene with a sense of dread.
Han and Luke had enjoyed a very close friendship. Han was the cool and reliable pilot Luke could look to for advice. Luke was the first true guy friend Han had, other than Lando and Chewbacca of course. Sometimes, Leia liked to believe Han was closer to Luke than she was, even though Luke considered the both of them to be family (which was ironic having them both been his family the whole time). She couldn’t help but wonder if Luke were to be angry at Han for the truth that his father was also Darth Vader and Leia was his sister. Would it affect their friendship as well? If Luke got angry at Leia from quote unquote hiding the truth from him, who was to say he wouldn’t get mad at Han or hiding it from him by extension as well.It would add more guilt to the pile if she was to be the cause of one of her husband’s most valuable friendships ending.
When Luke turned to meet her gaze as well, Leia put back on her mask. It was time to hide again, and she was getting better at it. A small smile formed on her lips.
“Yes,” Leia said, “Jyn and the others are keeping up just fine.”“Oy!” Jyn called from behind,
“I am pregnant, not disabled. You both try carrying an extra human in you.”
“Alright,” Han called from ahead, “If we need to pause, let me know.”

Happy Birthday to my friend @agentmarymargaretskitz I am so glad we are friends and we have our bday tradtiona every year! Enjoy you deserve it.

EXCERPT:“Look who joined the party,” Jyn said as she and Han entered the Imperial Shuttle.
Leia couldn’t believe how many people were able to fit in this thing. Then again, it was for that very reason and fact it was once an Imperial Cargo ship this was an effective ship to head onto the forest moon of the planet Endor. In addition to the five members of Rogue One, Luke, Mara and Chewbacca sat at the front with Threepio and Artoo huddled to the side. It was a small group to take on a big task despite the crowded shuttle, but it had some of the best soldiers the rebellion had to offer.
“I wouldn’t exactly call it a party,” Bodhi remarked, “We are heading on a dense forest planet full of Imperial Assholes to take down a scary planet destroying superweapon.”
“Isn’t it our job to take down planet-destroying superweapons,” Jyn responded, “And why is this so frightening? This is no different from our mission from Scarif.”
“Yeah but we almost died,” Baze said bluntly.
“Thank you!” Bodhi exclaimed, “See you understand why I am nervous!”
“But did we die, Brother dear?” Jyn retorted.

The sight of trees were something Han hated. Maybe because growing up on the planet of Corellia where even the cities were filled with trees wasn’t a good one. It was filled with nothing but pain, abuse and survival. Most likely because he saw them every day before he finally left the planet to fly the stars like he always dreamed. At the end of the day they were something unremarkable to him.
But he turned to look at Leia he came to a realization.
Corellia may have been full of trees, but it was full of life. Tatooine where Leia grew up was the complete opposite. Han had been there hundreds of times during his dealings with Jabba the Hutt. He considered it the worst planet he ever set foot on.
The planet was dead. Nothing but barren wasteland full of a sand. He couldn’t imagine walking up every morning, where nothing grew and the same dead sight. It was something that would drive him mad. It made him realize that maybe this tree-filled planet wasn’t so bad.
What made it even more beautiful was the look of wonder in the woman he loved’s eyes as she gazed at the beauty of the life that surrounded them.

Suddenly the room went silent. Leia lifted her head to look ahead at the front of the room to where a woman in white was standing in the front of the room. Leia knew who she was. Mon Mothma. Jyn had told her she would be considered the official founder of Rogue One and Luke considered her a mentor to him. The young Jedi was shocked that she was even here in the first place.
After being branded a traitor and subsequently having a large bounty placed on her head, Mothma had gone into hiding. She rarely attended these large gatherings in fears of what would happen if she was outed while surrounded by a majority of the rebels. Only missions of great importance would she make an appearance.
Leia knew this mission was going to be huge because they were going to destroy yet another Death Star, but the presence of Mon Mothma meant this mission was going to be big enough to change the course of the war and the Empire’s grip in the galaxy..
Takes Place in The Legendary Heroine Verse
“I LOOKED AWAY FOR ONE MINUTE AND THIS HAPPENED,” Leia growled. “ONE MINUTE AND OUR DAUGHTER IS GONE”
She had reached a breaking point. There had been a million things pilling up at once. The children being taken from their homes. The First Order rising up from the shadows. The panic that constantly set in now that Ben was training in the ways of the Force and now, she and Han’s youngest child, their little Rey was gone without a trace, possibly dead.
It was too much. Too much for her already fragile brain to handle.
“We got pleanty of people looking for her,” Han said walking over to her.
He was cautious as he approached her. Leia had been unhinged when it came to anger and stress with everything going on. She could no longer control the force when she was angry like she used to. Sometimes, when she was mad and frustrated her force power would unleash in horrible ways, like the ground would shake, the room would become cold, and sometimes things would break.
It was why he was careful when he embraced Leia. He knew Leia wouldn’t handle it if he got accidently hurt in the process.
“SHE’S DEAD HAN” Leia roared.
She felt an uncontrolled surge of energy release from her body. A force push. The sound of shattering glass broke her out of her flash of anger. Leia hoped she hit an innaminate object.
But she didn’t it was worse, much worse.
“BEN!” Han yelled.
Leia turned her head in horror to find Ben, the oldest of he three children, sitting on the floor of their living room. Glass surrounding him indicated he had hit one of their glass cabinets. The young man rubbed the back of his head and pulled it to his view and to his horror was soaked in blood.
“Ben I’m so sorry,” Leia said making her way over to comfort him, “I didn’t mean to hurt you it was an-”
“GET AWAY FROM ME YOU MONSTER!” Ben yelled. He quickly rose to his feet and ran out of the room.
Leia went to follow him but Han raised his hand to stop her.
“It’s better if I cool him down,” Han said before running to catch up with him.
Leia stood there feeling a great surge in the force. She knew what happened with Ben wasn’t on purpose. She would never in 1,000,000 years hurt her son who she claimed was the bright lights of her galaxy.
But her mistake sped up things to come. Things she hoped would never come to pass….her son losing his fight against the darkness.
Takes Place in the Legendary Heroine Verse:
“Han,” Leia said soothingly running her hand down Han’s back.
The nights following the incident on Bespin, the moment where she was so close to losing him. He frequently woke up from nightmares. She would wake up abruptly to see Han sitting on the bed sobbing with his hands threaded into his hair.
It was hard for him to speak. Hard for him to breathe and it often broke her, but just like he was so often strong for her when Leia was dealing with her trauma she had to be strong for him.
“Look at me,” Leia said firmly. His red tear filled hazel eyes met hers, “You’re safe.”
But simply telling Han he was safe wasn’t enough. He needed to know he WASN’T back there. So the moment he acknowledged her, even if it was a silent and sheepish stare, she pulled him close. She let him settle into his head into her lap as he so often loved.
“That’s it hotshot you’re not there,” She whispered, “you are here with me.”
She let the moments passed as she ran bestowed affectionate touches he loved in hopes to soothe him. But with each lazy circle on his back and smooth glide through his soft locks, the tears and the tremors died down.
She wished there was more she could do. She wish could go back in time and prevent what happened on Bespin from even happening at all. She wished could tell him everything was going to be okay when danger still lurked in the shadows.
But to be the one to wrap him in love above the darkness was enough for her.
Takes Place in the Legendary Heroine Verse at a later date:
“I hate it here,” Leia sighed as she wrapped the blanket Han had provided tighter around her.
Han looked up from the small campfire they had created in the abandoned underground tunnel located on the outer rim planet they had escaped to. He furrowed his brow. He couldn’t help but agree. He wished he was back home on the beach front house they had built together on Corellia,
It was warm and sunny with the sound of the ocean soothing them perpetually, not dark and cool with the sound of the sound of dripping water to drive them mad. But they had no choice.
The First Order had increased in power now with the backing of the Knights of Ren. With Ben….who now called himself Kylo Ren, hell bent on revenge for something Leia didn’t do, Leia had a target on her back. They could have stayed with the newly formed Resistance. But with their daughter Jaina amongst the ranks, Leia knew there was a bigger risk of her being killed if she stayed with them.
Their only choice was to run and hide. Stay as far away from their loved ones as they can until the First Order was defeated or someone convinced Ben to go back to the light.
“It could be worse,” Han said trying to make light of the situation, “we could be back on that one planet that was filled with nothing but hot lava.”
It didn’t help. Leia buried her face in her hands and began to sob. Her sobs so violent her body was trembling. Han quickly got up from his task of building the fire to keep the place warm and lit and walked over to Leia’s side.
He wrapped his arms around her like he did many times before when she in distress and pulled her close. He soothingly rocked her back and forth, tracing reassuring circles on down her spine.
“Shh it’s okay darling,” Han whispered placing small kisses on her forehead. “I’m here.”
“At least you’re with me,” Leia sniffled before burring her head into his neck, “it’s the only thing making this hell more bearable.”
A small smile formed on on Han’s lips. He went from having the life he dreamed of, a comfy house with a wife and children, to living in this nightmare, running from place to place and fearing for his life. His universe was shattering around him.
But being here, wrapped up in the woman he loved’s embrace, this was home to him. He wouldn’t trade it for anything in the galaxy.

NOTES: This was the fic for the @hanleiasecretsanta 2019!
The Prompt was: Post- TFA AU where Han doesn’t die after his confrontation with Ben/Kylo and somehow manages to get out with Rey, Finn, and Chewie, but without Ben. He soon reaches out to Leia with the bad News.
After asking my giftee what types of tropes they like in their fics and learning they like rescue missions, I decided to use this prompt with a twist (especially cause I am so mad Han didn’t wake up from his nap after TFA). Anyway to my Secret Santa, Happy Holidays, and I hope you enjoy reading this fic as I did writing it!

SUMMARY: Han and Leia regroup with the Rebellion to lay the groundwork for the next plans. Meanwhile Leia struggles to hide the truth about the fact that she and Luke are twins from her brother.
NOTES: i have to again thank you for your patience for my lack of posting. I had a chaotic couple of months in a good way including moving apartments finding a new job, and getting to know new friends, but with the Rise of Skywalker pissing me off to hell, my muse is up and loaded and I hope to write more within the next year!

EXCERPT:
“I hate to interrupt this little group,” their new guest said said, “Mon Mothma has called a meeting.”
Suddenly, the cold hallway of the fridgate became usually warm, even though the color was draining from Leia’s cheeks. She was anticipating this moment as much as she was dreading it now that she knew the truth. It was Luke, her long lost brother. It was still a weird concept to her, but something she wanted to scream out to the heavens because the fact he was her twin brother felt so right. However, she knew considering he needed to be focused on the war had to keep the secret guarded.
It was going to be hard, Leia wasn’t sure how much more patient to hide such a revelation. But if she wanted to make sure her brother had a clear head to help lead the rebels to victory, she had to hold her nerve.
Leia looked deep within herself finding sort of hint that the relationship and dynamic between her and Luke had changed dramatically on her face. She shifted any sort of shocked or sheepish expression that would have alerted to Luke that something was wrong. He always had that gift, which now Leia frighteningly came to realize was due to the fact that just like her, he was force sensitive.
Hold it together, Leia thought as her lips that formed a smile that masked the fact that everything was going to change now.
